HPV vs. HSV-2

What is the difference between HPV and HSV-2. I think I might have both. I know that you can get flu like symptoms with HSV-2. I had a flu shot. and still had headaches, body aches and a high grade fever of 102.

I also if it is not too much trouble with you Doctors if I can give support to others on this site by letting them know that there is an STD Dating website for  people with all kinds of std's. The first website is Positivesingles.com  and tell them Daisy2003 referred you.

Thank you in advance for answering my questions

Please don't come here advertising for dating sites - so uncool on a support website :(  Someone asks about dating sites for folks with std's - then by all means list all the ones you want.

Just because you have "flu like" symptoms and a fever doesn't mean you have to have either hpv or hsv.  What most folks think of as being flu like symptoms is usually just a regular viral illness - the symptoms they are referring to for newly acquired herpes infections are a little different.  Also just for the official record - not sure when you got your influenza shot but I'm guessing it was last fall for the strains of influenza they expected to be an issue last winter. What strains are going around this year at this point and time are probably different. Also what most folks call "the flu" isn't really influenza :(   Have you seen your doctor at all yet to try to figure out what is going on?

I have a question...I was diagnosed with HSV-1 over 18 years ago.  I had the initial bout and then not another until 17 years later.  Now that I'm 35, I have been getting bouts about every 2 to 3 weeks.  I'm frustrated and scared that this is how my life is going to play out.  I started Valtrex several weeks ago, but I am still getting bouts on the meds.  Can someone shed some light?
