On the 7th day of Flagyl now and worried

Hi,
Four weeks ago my discharge started.  From white to yellow/green.  I put Bactroban because i thought it was just a fungal infection and forgot it was an antibiotic and not an antifungal cream.  Yes sound stupid but i totally forgot.  So i thought maybe the antibiotic made the fungi outnumber the flora since the itching and redness worsen.  After 2 weeks I went to an OB-GYNE. She gave me Flagyl 2 times a day for 7 days.  Im now on my 7th day of flagyl. No more itching since she also gave me canested intravaginal tablet for 3 days.  I started it when i started the flagyl also.  \The dosctor said i should come back after the treatment so she can check if there are still trich.  Im worried i cannot go back tomorrow because of school.  Im afraid the trich will revel tomorrow when i wont be takling flagyl anymore.   There was a great improvement on the discharge. But still green though and it is very sticky and small in quantity now compared to last week. Is it okay to stop flagyl?   Please help me.   thank you.

At this point there is not much more we can do here. You have received 2 very good answers about the treatment and as recommended if things do not improve or get worse then you need to see your Dr again. But both of us agree that the medication should have worked.

what do you mean i was given the wrong dose?
Ive read somewhere that the 1 day treatment isnt really good.
no, my obgyne didnt mention she's gonna put the discharge for testing.  the reason why im asking if its ok not to add more flagyl is because i still have green discharge even now im done with my 1 week treatment.

At this point you've covered for trich ( you were given the wrong dose of medication but a week's worth should work just as well as the 1 day treatment you should've been given ). You've also covered for yeast even though you had no mention of being tested for yeast.

I don't recommend any more self treatment at all. No topicals at all!!

Give this another week and if you still have discharge, return to your provider for repeat testing.

I'm really confused why you say you were told to to take flagyl 2x/day for 7 days, you took 7 days worth of medication but now you are questioning if you should continue taking it or not. perhaps you can explain that part better?

Only a test can tell you that the infection is fully gone and that will not be able to give you a result until symptoms have stopped.

Vance2335, sorry but im confused with
"Can't say that the infection is gone, but chances are it is gone. "

Im worried again.

As long as you finish the medication then you should be ok. If the Dr thought you needed more you would have been prescribed more. So as long as you don't have any medication left then no need to reup the prescription at this point.

Can't say that the infection is gone, but chances are it is gone.

Yes i was consistent with the prescription of the OB-GYNE.  3 consecutive nights on canesten intravaginal tablet and flagyl 2 times daily for 7 days.  so im taking your reply as - no its okay that i dont take flagyl after the 7 days.  so that means i wont be as dizzy as hell tomorrow (because of flagyl).

Finish the medication in full. That is always the best option. Chances are the medication has worked but sometimes it does take the full does and I would not want to see you have to start the medication all over again.

Fungial or yeast is possible with the antibiotics.
No you should not be worried about the bump.
No I can assue you that the infection is taken care of. That is why you should take all of it.

Thank you so much for sparing your time . But shall i continue flagyl for 2 or 3 days more?  Or is it really ok not to since there was an improvement? And what does the water-like charge mean? is tehre a chance that i can get fungal infection now because of the antibiotic?  a day after bactroban i put tioconazole until now and there are no rashes now but occasionally its itchy.  and there's a small bump near the urine passage  like .5 cm away from it.  my doctor checked for lesions during the consultation and it was tehre already even before that.  shall i be worried since it is still not gone?
am i assured that flagyl already killed everything anf that my body is just really expelling all the dead trichs?

It can actually take up to 2 weeks for all symptoms to disappear because your body is expelling everything it can. At this point I am going to make a guess that you are cured due to the lessing symptoms. But follow up with your Dr if your symptoms come back stronger then they are now or at about 2 weeks after you have finished the medication.
