If these are acute symptoms of STD?

Hi All,

I am an asian and had unprotected sex with my g/f about 10 weeks back. Later on we went for protected vaginal sex about 4-5 times. About 5 weeks back, I saw some reddishness on the tips of my penis and some burning sensation. It followed with creamy yellow coloured discharge as well. I didn't pay attention to it initially but after about 7-10 while having protected sex with her again, the penis swelled a lot and I was not able to retract back the foreskin.
I visited the doctor next day and he asked for gram stain and culture tests and asked me to take doxycycline 2 tabs seven days. The reports as per him were normal, though I couldn't make out of it anything and advised me to continue the tablets for seven days.
The symptoms were gone and swelling also went  but after few days again same problem started. This time more reddishness on penis without swelling and backpain, shoulder pain, abdomen pain and creamy discharge through penis. I am very much worried now. If these are viral based STD symptoms and what disease you may suspect. I have lost my sleep over it and not sure what will happen to me now....

Hi,

The doctor told me today that it is balanoposthitis. I am wondering whether the physical examination itself would lead to this conclusion or some tests are needed for verification apart from gram stain and culture tests that were carried out.
He told me that its treatable and gave me 2 tabs of Azitral 500 and asked me to clear the penis after pulling off the foreskin (which is very painful for me) everyday with water. He has asked me to report after a week for further analysis. I am wondering if I am in safe hands or need some other tests to get it verified before moving into the treatment. Could you please suggest.

Follow up with your Dr because most are not symptoms but the dischage is an issue. It could be a STD or something else. I would advise to have your gf also tested for STD's.
