Oral Sex

Hey guys.   I was wondering what you all thought about the chances of getting different types of STDs or the rates of infection for both performing fellatio and receiving..both unprotected.  I have been on the HIV forum and they were very helpful as this act has little or incalculable rates of infection for HIV but I am concerned about other STD's as I have done this in the past with sex workers.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Oh and just to note -

FWK - rectal chlamydia is NOT the same thing as NSU.  NSU is an infection in the urethra.  Rectal chlamydia is chlamydia in your bottom.

Hi there -

I answered this in another thread, so lets keep all your questions to one thread, ok?  It helps me keep it all straight, and I don't end up saying the same thing over and over.

I don't know any exact stats, but I do know its not commonn to get oral stds.  Using condoms for oral will greatly reduce the chance of syphilis and will prevent gonorrhea.

FWK.  Thanks  Congrats on the HIV and good luck on the rest.  I guess I get worried because I am Bi and since I have had a girlfriend I have been monogomous but sometimes I want to stray and although I have not I want to know how to protect myself or if I should just stop.  I know I should stop but it is difficult to go against the desire.
Thanks again.

Hi there,

I have been recently diagnosed with NUS (rectal chlamydia) and I used to only do unprotected oral both ways, protected anal...I had no symptoms and went to check for hepatitis but ended  up doing a full check including HIV (negative as of tuesday).

Other test results are next week...

Go test and clear your mind, risk is minimum......but bacteria is easily transferred
