Oral Sex

Are you really sure that giving cunilingus or giving a fellatio is very low risk???  And Why is that??? I have read a lot of books and web pages, and they say oral sex is not a risk free activity nor a low risk one, why does everybody in this forum and the doctors forum keep saying that oral sex is a no risk activity, I would like to know the real risks, I hope theres someone out there that could answer my questions, thanks a lot!

Most oral STD's do not show symptoms. But if you got herpes you would see a cold sore. but mouch of the population has oral herpes. And syphilis is rare but shows a sore inside the mouth.

I can not speak about HIV here, this area is not for HIV it is for STD's. There is a HIV community for HIV questions.
The 2 Dr's on this site are experts in the fields of STD's and HIV. Combined have over 60 years of experience so I would never question what they have to say. They know exactly what they are saying and why they are saying it. Other sites give bad information or do not keep up to date with the most recent info.
Also a lot of sites like the CDC site gives conservative views on things. The Dr's here give straight forward info.

Thanks Vance, and what would be the real dangers of performing cunilingus, and what are the symptoms of oral stds? Is it true that cunilingus represents no risk of acquiring HIV? Cause thats what the doctors in this forum keep saying, which I disagree, do you know why do them keep telling that, when they are the ones supposing to be preventing this diseases, thanks a lot!!!

Well giving oral sex is low risk because the mouth is a very hostile enviroment. Saliva and normal mouth bacteria helps fight off from getting oral STD's. It is not no risk, but it is lower risk then unprotected vaginal/anal sex.

I think it's only a risk if you have an ulcer or cut in your mouth whilst giving oral sex.
