Tested Positive For Oral Gonorrhea
So I got my results back today. I tested positive for oral gonorrhea. Got my shot and my antibiotics. Taken care of! My question is related to how one can get oral gonorrhea. I research online and get different variables. Where its said via unprotected oral sex, anal sex, and rimming I even read it can be spread by the fingers if touched an infected part. But when I research old posts here, it mentions how rimming is typically not what causes oral gonorrhea. Again I tested positive for oral gonorrhea. All other things were negative. I have rimmed a lot... But I'm guessing oral gonorrhea is caught more from oral sex. Which I dont normally perform that often, and when I do I never deep throat, because of fear of oral gonorrhea, one just never knows. But who knows really. My head isnt spinning, Im actually okay. I always fear testing positive for anything. Never has happened. But alas it did. Just learning more. So, with the advice here what is the typical way oral gon is spread? And if I was with someone,while infected and I kissed them and rimmed them, and maybe briefly performed oral, no deepthroat, are they at risk?
Okay this adds more to the confusion. The person whom I had deep throat oral with, DOESNT HAVE GONORRHEA IN THEIR PENIS They have ORAL GONORRHEA AS WELL!!!! Everything else is clean. I thought I got it from them via me performing oral sex with him. I have read through many old posts and the moderator states over you cannot get ORAL GONORRHEA FROM KISSING... So if we both tested negative everywhere else, except in our throats how is this possible then? We didnt even kiss that deeply. So strange. This was the only person, that in the time frame I was with. I for sure thought I got it via them because I dont perform oral that much or roughly. So odd.

I also posted another message but it was deleted, because I already made this post. So I will ask it here. They say dont have sex for 7 days. So I wanted to come back after 7 or 8 days to be retested to make sure its gone. I was told you can come if I want in 1 month, because next week wont be enough time, it takes a few weeks. But if I can have sex in one week after, why? I want to be 100% sure.

Hi oral gono is most often passed by deep throat oral as the germs need to make contact with the back of the throat where more senitive tissues are. But there are exceptions as in your case. One one really knows the exact situation your oral sex was. Also how did you test positive for this and did you have throat symptoms?

Hi. I tested positive via a throat swab. The Urine was clean. I did have a sore throat but it wasnt right after the oral event. I did have an intense oral session once, where someone was a bit rough, but they weren't very large if you know what I mean, so I wasn't that worried about it with contact in the back of my throat. I did have a sore throat, but it wasn't that close to after that event happened that I didnt put it together. Im a mouth breather when I sleep so I sometimes get sore throats often from my mouth being open when I sleep. lol This person I have asked them to be tested to be safe, so I await. But they have no symptoms, and if I got it from them obviously they would have had to be infected. This person was away on vacation in another country, so I dont know if he had fun, and caught something, and then a few months later, still had it, and passed it onto me when we met. Or if he isnt telling me the truth about his activity. Or if he did have something when this happened, but since it has eventually cleared by the body? So many variables. But he is the only one I had intense oral sex with... So...
