Trying to Understand How This Work

In July 2017,I noticed a red rash on my body and soles of my feet. My dr gave me cream thinking I was allergic to something. Received a call Sept. 2017 informing me that I had been exposed to Syphilis. Had bloodwork done for all STDs/HIV- negative.Syphilis-reactive. RPR 1:128   I was given 1x Dose of Bicillin LA injections. I went back for a follow-up on April 2 and my RPR is 1:4 but everything still says reactive. What does this mean?

You need to keep taking your treatment, as infection is still in your body. You are not free of syphilis yet.

Thank you for your response. I wasn't  scheduled for any more treatments. Today when talking to the Health Clinic that treated me, I was told that my numbers were good from being 1:128 to 1:4 and my confirmatory test will remain Reactive for life. As long as the Titer doesn't rise no further treatment is necessary. This is so confusing.
