Hi there -
Getting oral herpes from someone's genital herpes is rare, and this really doesn't sound like herpes, but anything is possible.
It can take up to 4 months to show up on a blood test, though many will develop antibodies much sooner. Ask your doc for a type specific IgG herpes blood test.

I went to the doctor. It was negative for an UTI. He thinks now it might be herpes. I preformed oral sex on my sex partner and I have not had an outbreak on my mouth. Would that not have happened already? Also doesn't herpes show up on the test relatively quickly? Thanks,
No, its not normal. If the pain has increased significantly, I'd give him a call, even if its after hours. I don't know if I'd wait until Monday, especially if it keeps getting worse.
It doesn't mean the meds are causing the increased pain, but its more likely that whatever you have isn't responding to the meds, and you need a different medication.
Hope you feel better soon.

The pain should stop, or at least significantly improve, within a few days of taking the meds.

I recieved the meds almost 48 hours ago and the pain has increased. Is this normal? Thanks for your help and listening.

When does the pain go away?
If its gonorrhea or chlamydia, then you'd need to wait 7 days to not be contagious.
A z-pack is azithromycin. In the US, it comes in a pack of 5 pills, so its commonly called a z-pack. When taking it for chlamydia though, you just need 1 dose of 1000 mg. You wouldn't need the rest of the pills.

you should not have unprotected sex with your wife after sleeping with somebody else.. you could have passed it on.. you should have used a condom until you knew the reuslts of your test. If you are having pain, it sounds like it could be chlamydia. What is a z-pack? With some STD's they don't show up on a blood test or a screening until three months afterwards. HIV for example you dont know if you have it until 3-6 (?) months after the night in question.
Thanks. If it is an STD, about how long does it take the meds to start working? When will I be noncontigous?
It really could be a flu thing, an std, a uti - so many things. You won't know until you get the results back, unfortunately.

I went to the doctor and told him the situation. He stated it probably was a STD and gave me a shot and a dose of z-pack. I want this to be anything but a STD. This experience was an affair and after I got my first results that were negative, I continued relations with my wife. Needless, to say I am embarrassed, ashamed, and regretful for my actions. Furthermore, greatly saddened my the possiblity of losing my family.
The doctor did take a urine sample and said the results would be in a week. I never got dehydrated and the pain at the tip of my penis continued throughout the day. Could this be anything else? I believe the stomach pain is caused by emotional stress. Thanks,
Maybe, but I'd expect pain with urination, and you didn't mention that.
Aj
Couldn't it also be a UTI?
Did you have sex with the person before or after your std testing? (What makes them questionable? By definition, anyone who has unprotected sex is at risk, so YOU are then questionable too.)
If you were female, I'd say check with your doc about PID. Since you are male, I'd say maybe you had food poisoning or a virus. Your penis could itch inside if you were dehydrated from diarrhea.
