Weird Constellation of Symptoms - Detailed Overview (with Specific Questions)
I’m sorry if this is repetitive and some of you have read parts of my story before, but I really need some guidance here. I apologize in advance for the length of this, but the symptoms I have been experiencing are just a weird coincidence to just write-off as being in my head. I could really use some perspective.
A little over 5 weeks ago, I had protected sex (vaginal and oral) followed by a hand job with a SW. Single biggest regret of my life. Only person I’ve ever been with other than my wife (I know I was clean before and I know she is clean now). Absolutely disgusted with myself. In fear or losing my wife, my kids, the embarrassment I would cause my family if this was widely known, and the thought of having contracted something that could hurt me detrimentally, I immediately started experiencing panic/regret/anxiety/stress, etc. I ended up with severe pain in my abdomen (burning/acidity/pressure) for a few days followed by a few days of diarrhea. A week to 10 days later, my BMs were still not solid. BMs still don’t look normal to me now either, but they are somewhat solid.
In terms of testing, I took full panel of STD tests on day 2, 14, and 34 – all negative. Had a CBC test done on day 27 (everything in order). Still plan to go around week 8 and week 12 to get a little more closure (and hope to god they are all still negative). Also, haven’t paid much attention to it, but have noticed by temperature has been running below 98.6 (mid 97s mostly).
I want to caveat that I honestly believe I have been trying to move past this, but because of the symptoms I am experiencing, I just don’t know what to do. In terms of symptoms, 3 days after the act, I started to feel pain, drip, etc. in my penis and was prescribed one dose of Suprax and Azithromycin. Not sure if it was there before, but I noticed my tongue had a white coating on day 4. I was put on Nystatin and altered my diet significantly in fear of thrush/yeast (meats, vegetables, etc.) so I have lost a good bit of weight over 5+ weeks. Nystatin didn’t help and now I’m on Fluconazole (which I don’t think is doing anything either). Not sure that I even have thrush as my tongue has a white coating, but doesn’t look as bad as the pictures you see online. My skin is really dry, which it isn’t normally, and my lips are peeling even though I put Vaseline on them every night. Normally, if put Vaseline on my lips when they are chapped, they are back to normal in a day or two. I have been trying organic at home remedies (oil pulling, saltwater gargling, eating raw garlic, drinking acv, oregano, probiotics, yogurt, etc.). Those seem to help the white tongue a little, but the tongue still looks white to me. I tried the spit test, and if there is any reliability in that, I would fail miserably. Saliva has legs and floats to the bottom. About 10 days ago, my lips started burning at work and I got a bunch of flesh-colored bumps on my upper lip (almost needle like in size). Additionally, I have been having temporary rashes that show up for 5-10 minutes on the palms/backs of my hands, soles of my feet, and random other spots of the body (but the latter is not that frequent). They show up under the skin and just look red (almost like you’re flushed or have hives / welts minus the bumps) and sometimes they itch and at other times they burn. I am drinking a lot of water, but am also noticing a lot of blue veins popping out on my hands as well (which I have always been told if you are hydrated, you shouldn’t see that). They are still there today. I am having discomfort in my penis, particularly the tip of the foreskin and the urethra. Just feels uncomfortable in general, but stings if I haven’t urinated in a while, doesn’t burn when I’m peeing, stings sometimes right after I have peed. I mentioned in another post, my penis also just looks different. Almost like it is extra droopy and long vein visible in foreskin, which wasn’t visible before.
I really need some guidance here. Here are my questions, but would welcome any other thoughts you all might have. Please.
1) Any idea what could be causing the white tongue? Do you think the Suprax and Azithromycin could have caused it and still be lingering? If it is yeast, shouldn’t Nystatin and Flucanazole clear it up? Should I be checking for another underlying problem?
2) For STD testing, I have been using tSTD. They are a conduit that allows for anonymous testing at Quest and LabCorp. Seems reliable, but are these the right tests to be taking (HIV-1/2 Antibody 4th Gen, HIV Early Detetion DNA by PCR, HSV-1AB IGG, HSV-2AP IGG, Chlamydia Trachomatis by Amplification, Nesseria Gonorrhoeae by Amplification, Hep A HAV Antibody, Heb B HBsAgScreen Virus Surface Antigen, Hep C HCV Antibody w/ Reflex to RIBA, Syphilis RPR Monitor w/ Reflex to Titer/FTA-AG, Trichomonas RNA)? Are any of these not as reliable where I should be testing again or in a different manner? If this were you, what would you retest for and when?
3) Given Syphilis is known as the great imitator, I have a weird set of symptoms, and that the test isn’t apparently reliable until 6 weeks, do any of you think this could be the root problem?
4) For the tiny bumps on the lips, could I be experiencing HPV symptoms that early? Is it possible to have contracted HPV on my lips without giving oral, kissing, sharing a drink, or any contact w/ my mouth? Could it be HSV and the bumps just haven’t broken into sores yet? Should I avoid kissing anyone (even my kids on the forehead)?
5) Could I have contracted Trich from the experience I described and it not have been detected in the blood work – I have read it is hard to detect in men.
6) My CBC came back clear. Should I run another CBC in a few weeks or does it not change that quickly? Want to make sure my WBC isn’t elevated as time progresses. Are there other types of blood work that I should be running? What about other tests (urine / stool, etc.)? If this was you, what would you be looking for to get comfort given symptoms? Should I see a GI, Urologist, Allergist, Dermatologist, etc.?
7) Can ALL (NOT SOME) of this be caused by underlying regret/stress/anxiety?
8) If having sex with my wife, I need to use protection, but should I avoid it altogether for her safety?

Could the white tongue, burning penis tip, tiny bumps on lips etc. be early signs of HSV or Syphilis??? Please, anyone provide some guidance...I’m struggling.

I don't know the answers cause I myself has put himself in this situation. What I do want to say is that I'm here for you cause it has made me so depressed, that I know how It feels to want someone to listen. I get my results tomorrow and I've already made myself believe that I have an std due to a "one night stand" that occurred over a month ago and I'm afraid that I've passed it along to my gf. It's breaking my heart.

Thanks Mind Games. I appreciate the empathy. I hope your results all come back negative and you can move past this. The only silver lining I see from all of this is that I know what it is like to feel like I'm losing everything I love and care about so deeply for something so impulsive and stupid that I would work the rest of my life to make sure I never put myself or anyone else in such a position again. Keep me posted on your results.
I know what you mean. It's the feeling that if everything comes back negative, I'll never do this again and put myself in this situations and be loyal without even having one single thought of stepping out. Today is the day and I find myself having to stop to breath because I'm having panic attacks. I'm so worried to tell my gf, if I come back positive. How are you feeling today?

It would be interesting to repeat all those test 3 months later. Syphilis could remain in your body without giving you any symptom, but it will never escape from a test.

Thanks Dragon. Do you think the tests are reliable at 34 days? I was going to take it again at the 8 week mark just because I've been reading its reliable at 6 weeks. Scared for a number of reasons, but don't want to pass anything along either.
