Quick question about Chlamydia

Age 28, gender male, symptoms none.
I have a question, I had unprotected sex with a woman who later went for an STD test and she came back positive for chlamidya. I had a full panel done 2 months ago and was negative for everything, she had one 4 months ago and was negative for everything. She had a brief fling with a guy and is certain she caught the infection off of him. Thats just the background.

Anyway, 9 days after exposure I took 1000mg of azithromycin to make sure if I had the infection it would go away. I then ordered another 1000mg of azithromycin and took it 16 days after exposure ( just me being paranoid about the first dose not clearing it up )

So my question is, is the dose of azithromycin sufficient enough to clear the chlamidya after a) 9 days and b) 16 days? I havent had sex since, Ive had no symptoms. I was just wondering if I took the medicine too early ( another doctor said to me I can take it a day or so after exposure and it would be just as effective(

I hope to hear from you soon and thank you

Got my answer from the NHS sexual health line, they say you can take the treatment as soon as you find out you have Chlamydia and it will be just as effective!
