STD

HiH
Hi Doc

Four weeks ago I had oral sex with a sex worker / stripper (unprotected).  The next day I felt ill (malaise/mild headache) and had an itchy/burning anus, penis, eyes and nose.  The doctor gave me a single dose of Ciprobay and Flagyl as a precaution.  The symptoms went but returned several days later and in addition I had a painful penis and bladder area and a mild clear discharge mostly only after urinating, and the penis opening is swollen.  The doctor then gives me a single dose of Zithromax and the symptoms are reduced but don't go away.  Then he gave me a 5 day course of Flagyl and am using Travacort on anus as this is where most of the itch is (4 days).  All symptoms disappear except slight swelling of penis opening.  All blood tests are negative for Chlamydia, Gonococacal antibodies, Hep "B", HIV (PCR) but these were all done after the first does of antibiotics so from what I read here may not be reliable.  I now still have the swollen penis opening which never really went away and other symptoms are returning such as itchy/raw sensation anus, eys and nose but no pain in penis and no discharge yet.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

HiH
Thanks Vance, maybe your are right but odd symptoms persist.

Symptoms have no real meaningful connection to a STD. It sounds like your Dr is really just treating and not testing. I would either follow up with your Dr or even better see a new Dr.
