Still chlamydia or something else?

I found out I had chlamydia in April after going to the doctor for what I thought seemed like UTI symptoms. I was given azithromycin in the drink form. Me and my boyfriend both drank the meds, abstained from sex for 8 days, and symptoms seemed to be cured.

In the past month or so I started noticing that the symptoms seemed to be returning. The only symptoms I have ever experienced were burning in the vagina and urethra. I went back to the dr again. Negative for a UTI, positive chlamydia. This time we were given a 7 day course of doxycycline. I finished the course and still continued to experience the burning symptoms. No improvement whatsoever. We were given azithromycin again, this time in the form of two pills. I took the azithromycin on Tuesday. It's now Saturday. The burning has persisted. It does not feel like the chlamydia wants to go away.

I'm aware I need to go back to the doctors office, and I plan to do so on Monday. I'm just looking for any ideas that anyone may have that could help me out. I've not been able to find any similar situations online. I'm afraid it may be something bad since the symptoms aren't going away. By the way, my partner has not noticed any symptoms but has been treated along side with me each time. It seems to just be me that is experiencing symptoms. The constant burning is getting old! Could it be that antibiotics would not be able to cure chlamydia 3 times? It seems unlikely to me, but it's beginning to seem possible.

It can persist mine persists for over 1.5 years now with more than 10 different antibiotics courses, however recently has improved, so do not quit and continue treatment it is a very persistant little bugger, but eventually you will cure it

It might help to add that I am unsure how long I could have had this infection. When first diagnosed, it had been a little over a year since my last STD screen. I could have contracted it at any point after that.
