Still have symptoms after antibiotics--possible STD?

So, I had unprotected anal sex with a woman about 5 weeks ago and starting the next morning I had a burning at the head of my penis when I peed. When it didn’t go away on its own after a week I saw a dr who looked at a urine sample under a microscope and declared that I had a very high level of white blood cells in my urine, likely as the result of a bacterial infection.

There was no discharge from my penis or any other symptoms so my dr thought it more likely to be anal bacterial than a traditional STI and so prescribed a 10-day course of Bactrim and told me to come see him again after the course.

Fast Forward 10 days and the burning in my penis has decreased significantly. But it hadn’t completely disappeared and there was still a very slight sting (usually just when I first urinated in the morning). Saw the dr again the next week and he said that there are far fewer white blood cells present in my urine and it looked much better. He prescribed another 10 days of Bactrim just in case.

I’m now on day 9 of that 10-day course and while I think the sting might have gotten a little better, the head of my penis still feels a little…weird when I pee. Like a burning or stinging so light that I can’t even really call it pain that persists for a few minutes after urination.

I have been super anxious and have been checking my penis for other potential signs of std multiple times a day, every day. The only potential thing I’ve notices is that while “pulling apart” my urethra to look inside there seems to be a “patch” of the inner skin that is a slightly lighter color. But I don’t know if that is from the previous infection or if it’s really anything. It may have been there before and I didn’t notice. There are no other signs on the skin.

The dr did give me an rx for a 10-day course of Minocycline (sp?) in case the Bactrim did not work and I have chlamydia. As well as two fluconazole tablets to take after I had completed the antibiotic treatment in case of potential yeast overgrowth while on the antibiotics. But…the Bactrim seems to have worked based on the much lower white blood cell count in my urine and significantly lessened symptoms. And he said if it was an STD, the Bactrim wouldn’t have done anything.

I guess I am just looking for some guidance.

Should I just take the Minocycline? I know you don’t want to take more antibiotics than you have to as it can make the bacteria in your body potentially more dangerous. But I haven’t taken any antibiotics (other than this 20-day course of Bactrim) for about 15 years.

Or should I try taking the fluconazole first to rule out the potential that this is yeast related? But then, if that doesn’t work I’m concerned I won’t have it after the course of Minocycline if I have to take that.

I’m just kind of freaking out and looking for some guidance. I’m pretty short on cash right now and can’t afford to do an STD test for another month or so (I make too much for a reduced price test, but am pretty much strapped right now because of other expenses).
