Hi Doctor
Hope you can help. I am a female who performed oral sex on what appeared to be a clean male penis. Four days later, I noticed small patches on my tonsils (but no sore throat) and consulted with a local doctor who said that it was not an STD, but simply Tonsilitis, and therefore did not perform a test or swab. He prescribed me antibiotics, and a couple of days later the patches disappeared. Since, I have read about the possibility of Gonorrhea transmission leading to Tonsilitis, and now am concerned that it may have been Gonorrhea instead. This obviously concerns me, as the likes of HIV can also be transmitted through Gonorrhea. So I was wondering whether there are any distinctive variances between Tonsilitis from Gonorrhea, and how soon and under what circumstances would Gonorrhea cause a breakout of Tonsilitis?
Thank you
