Post-chlamydia symptoms

10 days ago I was tested for Chlamydia and given 4 azithromycin. My symptoms were discomfort while urinating and discharge. I came back positive and it's been 10 days now. Everything seemed to clear up but not totally the discharge. But it's definitely less. I sort of "milk" my shaft sometimes and it comes out a little but I'm not rough or anything - it takes little pressure. It's more in the morning and sometimes later in the day if i haven't recently urinated. I went back to the dr after it had been one week but they told me to just keep waiting and come back in two weeks if it persists. Is this normal? I read somewhere sometimes the infection will be dead but you're still passing stuff out and get slight discharge, but I'm not sure. Thank you for your help.

Life360_Dave is absolutely right.  It doesn't hurt at all to do a follow up and the doc may prescribe a different antibiotic this time to hit any continued issues from another angle.  In the meantime I would abstain from sex to be on the safe side (but that's just me).

Update: the discharge seemed to have stopped but last night before going to bed I went to the bathroom and it hurt to urinate and still was very uncomfortable after I finished, a symptom of chlamydia I did not have (at least not so prominent). Since it still hurt after urinating, I went back to the bathroom to inspect myself and possibly urinate more. When I pinched the shaft and pulled up to see if I was having more discharge, a bit of what looked like tissue came out of my urethra. This is unlike any discharge I ever had with chlamydia, which was always a whiteish clear fluid. What came out this time was squishy and solid, I could roll it into a bead with my fingers. I have not experienced any more discharge like that since last night, and peeing is comfortable. But I do have the faint fluid discharge which I had prior. I'm thinking I may have contracted a UTI from the Chlamydia, and the light persistent symptoms were the untreated UTI and not Chlamydia lasting past the one week point. I have not been able to find any account of Chlamydia with the tissue discharge but have with UTIs. Could this be a possibility? I have a doctor appointment tomorrow.

Yes that true but also sometimes a second treatment is needed so might not be a bad idea to have a follow up with the doc.
