Swelling in urethra very confused

I have been having issues with my penis and urethra the last couple of months. I am a 20 year old male, and 3 months ago had unprotected sex with a woman I did not know very well. She said she had been tested for stds recently and that she was clean. 2 weeks later I started having pain and itching in the tip of my penis. I also would have a small amount of yellowish discharge in the mornings.

I went and got tested for all stds and results came back negative for everything. While being tested I was given one dose of azithromycin and medicine for gonorhea as well. My urologist said it was probably non specific urethritis and he prescribed me minocycline twice a day for 30 days.

At the end of taking the medication, all the symptoms seemed to go away. A week and a half later I started getting an itchy feeling in the tip of my penis. It does not really burn when I pee nor is there any discharge. My anxiety is pretty bad and I have been obsessing over this, so I have been checking my penis constantly. I often squeeze my penis to see if any discharge will come out.

Now on top of all this, it is difficult for me to urinate. Every time I try to go to the bathroom only a little bit comes out when I still feel like there is more. I am waiting for my appointment with my urologist but this won’t be for another 2 weeks.

What do these symptoms suggest is going on? It has been causing me a great deal of anxiety and I am not sure what is going on. Is it possible for NGU to come back after taking two types of medication? Or am I just overthinking this and I caused my urethra to swell up by checking my penis for issues too much. If I don’t have a std, can I still give someone an infection if I have sex with them?

Sounds like anexity. I had NGU also and it later went to my prostate. The problem with NGU is so many bacteria can cause it and different bacteria respond to different antibiotics. So yes it could return or move to other areas. The itching you experience could be a yeast infection from the antibiotic treatment. Your symptoms do sound more anexity related and irratation from constant checking, but you could try some lotriman cream and see if that stops the itch

Do you think it is likely I could transmit an infection to someone else? I’m hoping it’s just my anxiety.
