Syphilis Risk/Testing

In late May I had protected sex with a CSW, vaginally and she performed oral. I never had any symptoms or issues after the encounter.

Roughly 6-8 weeks later my SO started having skin issues, and a full body rash. Now her nurse wants her to be tested for syphilis.

10 weeks after my encounter, I had a full STD panel done, and everything came back negative. Could this be a false negative since I was slightly outside of the testing window.

Should I be concerned?

Did your testing include syphilis? Double check your results to make sure it did. It would have been a blood test.

To be 100% conclusive, it should be 12 weeks, but most people test positive by 6 weeks, and if you haven't had any symptoms, I'd be fine calling a 10 week test conclusive.

Loads and loads of things cause rashes. Syphilis is uncommon in most developed countries, and it wouldn't be near the top of the list for causes.
