Can a 10+ day long heavy period with clots be a symptom of an STD

I began bleeding just 7 days after I had unprotected sex,  making this cycle only 12 days long. It is super heavy and I have passed many clots,  most no bigger than a dime with mild to severe cramps.   I am wondering if the bleeding could be as I describe it. I am 39 and have had my tubes tied 3 yrs ago

Hi what your describing would not be considered any std symptom. how ever stds, can cause infections that lead to open sores that could bleed but your describing seems like a period that was started by some menstral cycle.

Thank you for your answer. I am waiting on test results as we speak,  and i am also scheduled to get an ultrasound for possible fibroids
Apparently mybirregular and heavy bleeding (now on 13the day)  can be a sign of chlamydia. Took my dose of antubiptics last night.  Everything on my ultrasound looked normal and will be retesting next week as well as following up with my gym in a couple weeks.

Just thought in would update for anyone else that may be freaking out like I was , seeing as I made myself crazy trying to find an answer to my question.
