Where can syphilis appear?

24 y/o male, noticed a very small (5mm?), smooth, painless, ulcer looking thing on my inner thigh/groin. Couldn't think of what it was but the painless nature has me wondering if it could be syphilis? Unless syphilis can only appear on genitalia / anus. Thank you for any help!

Syphilis is very rare in general, and although it's true that, in theory, syphilis can enter the body at various points, the odds that this is syphilis is astronomically low.
