possible gonorrhea?

hi, I've been concerned the past couple days and just wanted to know what my risks are here. I am a male and about a week ago I received unprotected oral sex with a woman I had met that day for probably a good 10 minutes or so. She claimed she was completely clean, even going as far as saying she had kids and wouldn't jeopardize her life for their sake, so her claim seemed pretty legit. Anyways, about 5 or 6 days ago, I noticed a slight burning sensation when I would pee that has since gone away, but now it feels like my penis is kind of itchy. I didn't know if this would be a sign of gonorrhea. No discharge that I can tell of though, but I do feel like I have to pee a little more often. That may be because I'm so fixated on whats going on down there though. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Antibiotics can sometimes cause candida however this is not in translation of your anal itching. You are going through pruritis ani, a common itch or sensation in or around the anus. You said so yourself you get it after diarrhea and cleaning. It often occurs in just about everyone. It is often due to fecal incontinence or trapped moisture between the glutes. You may have to resort to a gentle wipe with wet wipes or a gentler tissue. If it bothers you during the day, you may purchase Hydrocortizone but if you do, you should use it sparingly because it is known to cause changes in skin texture if used often or overly recommended.

Alright, so I think this may be the last thing I worry about (finally haha). The anal itching I have has not really gotten any better so it kinda worried me until I found information on yeast infections. Is it possible that the day or day after taking my antibiotics I could have triggered a yeast infection on my anus (I had diarrhea that day and day after so that wouldve made the area moist especially if I didnt wipe well)? How long do these typically last in men? What is the best treatment to ease the burning/itching sensation that comes along with it? or even better, to get rid of the infection altogether?

What led me to this conclusion is that my anus, while being itchy and somewhat sore for the most part, has also been moist the entire time almost. I haven't noticed any indicator that its from discharge or blood, cuts, lesions, whatever. Also, the moisture has a scent to it. It was something that smelled familiar, I knew it wasnt a fecal smell, but when I saw yeast infection and put 2 and 2 together, the scent clicked in my mind and registered as almost like a beer scent. Would this be true also of a yeast infection? Or am I completely wrong here?

If you read the entire post you would know that discharge was found when I went to a doctor this past thursday. I was asked to provide a urine sample for Gonorrhea/Chlamydia, and was treated for both of those infections that day. She did a visual evaluation of my body and genitals and found no signs of anything else. That was around 6-7 days after the oral sex incounter. Symptoms have gotten better, but what I'm concerned about now is the dark ring that goes around my shaft, along with a dark line going down the underside also. It may all be anxiety induced, since that has been a big problem for the past week now, but the reason why I am asking for a response from Vance after you have replied is that you keep telling me what was posted initially, while showing no signs of reading this entire post. I was unaware if this was normal, or being caused by something else, and was just seeking advice from the person who had helped me to begin with.

Every day it seems like theres something different to throw me off and worry, but anyways. Today, I noticed an unusually dark ring around my penis around where I got circumcised. There also seems to be a dark line running down the shaft also. I didnt know if this is a sign of anything else. Other symptoms are no longer present from what I can tell, once again though, completely freaking out here, can someone please give me some info and tell me if this is STD related???

Yeah thats what I figured. Since each day that passes by, symptoms seem to clear up more and more, so I haven't been worrying about it too much, but when I have down time, It'll pop back into my head and worry me again. I just didn't know if there was any more information I would need to know regarding herpes that would raise a red flag (timeframes, symptoms, etc). It does seem like the medication I was given worked though, now on the 3rd day after taking it and symptoms are almost non existant.

This is all anxiety you are feeling at the moment. You have been evaluated by professionals and gotten tested. As for the rash around the anus, it could be something else but not std related. It could pruritis ani, commonly known as the itch around the anus. This could have happened due to fecal incontinence, also known as your diarrhea.

Hi, you guys are probably getting tired of me at this point but I do have one other question. Yesterday I did some more poking around online and did more reading on STD's (yeah probably a bad idea in the first place) and I am now concerned about herpes for some reason. I would think that if my symptoms made it seem that could be a possibility, I would have been told not only here but at the doctors, but I'm pretty much freaking out here. More than likely a combination of anxiety and guilt. But for the record, symptoms from gonorrhea are not as bad after taking medication (not gone yet, but its only been a day, I wouldn't expect it to work that fast), I have no lesions, swelling, sores, blisters, or anything like that, the doctor even checked yesterday and said the same, I may have a rash around the anus (it's a little itchy, but I did have diarrhea yesterday so that may be why), and overall just not experiencing anything that I would think would be associated with herpes. Is there anything else I should be looking out for? Have not been exposed to HSV-1 either, since I do not recall ever having cold sores. Once again, I know I'm probably freaking out for no reason, but I had to ask anyways. Thanks in advance

oh and as far as privacy went, they put a note on my file to not send me anything or contact me for anything, so overall, everything went better and smoother than I initially thought

Hello again, just wanted to follow up since I did end up going to a doctor to get checked out. She did notice a discharge that I hadn't noticed before, it was very slight but still concerned her so they took a urine sample, took note of my symptoms and sent the urine sample off for testing. As a precautionary measure against my symptoms they gave me medication for both gonorrhea and chlamydia and told me to check back in a couple weeks for the results of the initial test, and if anything came back positive, to retest and make sure I'm clear. Thank you so much to Vance2335 and Aelly for your information and helping put my mind at ease enough to not feel so anxious about being proactive and getting tested :)

Dr can either do a swab or just urine collection. If urine make sure you do not urinate at least 1hr before hand...3hrs is better...actually for a swab the same thing.

Testing can be a coupel of days to a week. I don't know what they will do if positive you have to speak to your Dr about that.

I've decided I'm going to the doctor today to help put my mind at ease, but I'm kind of nervous about the process/timeframe for testing. Can anyone let me know what to expect? Like what all is involved with being tested for Gonorrhea? Do I find out my results that same day? If they do find something, are they going to send a bunch of stuff to my house? (I would much prefer to keep this a private matter, with ideally only myself knowing for the time being)

Yes, as far as discharge, that is what you should be looking for. But, I would check with the doctor just in case for symptoms appearing.

Once again thank you for a quick response, this has helped to put my mind at ease for now. One more question though, what should I be looking for as far as discharge goes? Thick, thin, colored, white?

Planned Parenthood follows by income or there are some clinics in which do free std testing but you will have to research this on your own though.

Many people will often find the cause of their problem by addressing it. I think this may be your anxiety however, I would go to physician now for testing for gonorrhea, trich, or chlamydia. Most people wouldn't lie about their status especially at points of sexual congregation. But, for peace of mind, you can always get tested

Than you for the quick response, its very much appreciated. In case I do need to see a doctor, where would be the best/cheapest place to go? Currently I do not have medical insurance, and I heard some clinics may do STD testing/treatment for free. Is that true?
