Unidentified STD :(

Hello everyone! My name is Cristian and I would like share with you my symptoms, maybe you could come up with an advice.
One year ago I had a sexual intercourse with a prostitute ( w/o condom ) and after 2 weeks I started to experience the following symptoms : high fever, abdominal and muscle&joint pain, night sweats and swollen nodes around my neck. I want to mention I didn't take any medicine, and after 2 weeks the symptoms disappeared.
After another 1 or 2 weeks a chancre appeared on the tip of my penis. It was pink to red and it was itchy when I masturbed or touch it. Again I didn't took any medicine and the chancre disappeared after several weeks.
During the year, some little red dots ( resemble like acne, but is reddish ) have emerged on my chest and on the scalp. One important symptom is that from time to time ( weekly ) I experience mild fever, which goes away after some hours.
I was tested negative for HIV and for syphilis ( VDRL, TPHA, FTA-ABS ), but the fever is still there. I'm worried cause doctor here cannot tell exactly what is it and they prefer to send me hope telling me not to worry. Could you help me please ?
Have a nice day :)

Syphillis would only make sense though. Go to a specialist.... I just read somewhere that someone tested negative or the doctors made a mistake on the syphillis test and eventually the guy lost sight in one of his eyes and experienced serious illness due to it bein left untreated for many years.

They should also check for any and all std's thst may be more prominent overseas and not as common here because who knows who else she may have slept with....

this doesn't sound like syphilis going on. both you and your gf need to follow up on what is going on. I suggest a dermatologist for your various rashes.

Yes, I will repeat the tests, both the HIV and Syphilis. After I had the sex experience in January 2009, I made my first tests 10 month after that....I thought I contacted HIV and for this virus the tests are concludent only after a six-seven months period.
After my HIV went negative, I got back to the drawing board and thought about Syphilis. My initial chancre on the tip of penis and the reddish new sores (I had acnee from childhood, but this one's look a bit differend) on my chest and sides of my neck. Also, in summer of 2009, painfull sores -when i touch them- appeared on my scalp Some of them heal by themselfes, but I never got rid completely of them. Also hair falling is a common problem for me.
But I made the VDRL and TPHA tests twice and the FTA-ABS once, and all of them were negative ( at the same clinic ).
Now, after 1,5 months after we made love, my girlfriend has the same symptoms : fever, sore throat, headache and enlarged lymph nodes.
I will try and test her also for syphilis with both VDRL and RPR.
Wish me luck... :)

It sounds like you have Syphilis.  I think you need a second opinion. Maybe your doctor doesn't see many patients with sexually transmitted diseases.  Did you tell your doctor you had unprotected intercourse with the prostitute? You definitely have something and it's been passed on to your girlfriend.  She needs to be tested and treated asap!  Go to the local STD Clinic and see an STD specialist!

After my HIV test went negative, I had the courage to make love to my current girlfriend. Soon after, she experienced a severe sore around her mouth. I see her rarely because of our jobs, so I could not track her all the time, but she sometimes told me that at night the sore was bleeding. So, it might makes sense having Herpes. I will do the test right away doc. Thanks :)

How come ? The chancre which was on my penis is not STD related ?\
I tested negative after 9 moths after the exposure. I guess it would have been positive, no ?
Gonorrhea and chlymida are STD related with discharge from the penis, no ?
I mention that I did not experience such discharges.
I'm a bit worried...
Thank you for your answer, mister Vance :)

Your symptoms are not STD related. You have tested negative for HIV and syphilis How long after exposure did you test for those? Have you also tested for gonorrhea, chlymida and herpes? If not I suggest you do so.

But again the symptoms are not STD related, advice is follow up with your Dr or seek a 2nd opinion.
