(Molluscum) Need help/advice/questions answered

I was recently diagnosed with Molluscum Contagiosum but the doctor put this acid stuff on SOME of them to make them go away.. but I do have other ones that she did NOT treat.. she said if I get more to go back and she'll give me Aldora for it which would take 2-3 months to cure. She said it would go away on it's own 6-12 months from now. I am recently single.. should I not date anybody? Should I cancel my date for this weekend? Basically.. it says that you can get it from skin to skin contact or from clothes.. I was wondering if it's possible to have gotten it from buying USED clothes after trying them on in the store for I'd say 5 minutes or so? Or would it be more likely to have gotten it from my ex boyfriend? Also, how likely is it that it's just going to keep spreading to OTHER areas of my body? Should I rewash all of my clothes? Does soap alone kill it or do I need to wash everything in warm water? Have they ever been known to last less than 6 months? Please, if anyone has gone through this or is a professional.. I need these questions answered please.. Thank you in advance.

You have been given good advice.  You don't need me to tell you what they have already told you.

See www.ashastd.org for some good MCV info.

No reason not to go out on a date. I wouldn't be having sex though until they are all gone and have been for at least a few weeks.  Molluscum is just a cosmetic issue, not a health issue but as you know yourself, it's a pain in the butt to deal with.

No, you didn't get this from trying on clothes.

No, I wouldn't bother rewashing all your clothing.
