What does TPHA positive 1:320 means?

Hi,

Yesterday I've been tested VDRL and the result was positive. Today, my doctor made me tested for TPHA and FTA ABS IgG and FTA ABS IgM. The result for TPHA is again positive 1:320. I'll get the results of FTA test in 9 days.

I wonder what does TPHA positive 1:320 means? Is it possible to say that I'm in which period of the disease? I have chankres around my penis and they almost look like white debris and wounds. I haven't consulted my doc yet but I'm worried about the duration of the threatment. Could you please help?

blood testing doesn't tell you when you contracted it.

your gf will need to wait and repeat her syphilis testing in 6 weeks. meanwhile she can consult her provider to see if it's worthwhile to treat her anyways. avoid sex at this point too of course.

when was your last partner prior to her?

you will need to seek out treatment to deal with this properly.  it's not something you want to put off.

Ok I know already that I have syphilis, my query was, can I know when did I get this disease? Maybe the ratio 1:320 gives a rough estimation about the date I caught this disease.

By the way, my gf had a VDRL test yesterday and the result is negatif. Thus, how much does she have to wait for having another test? It is not possible for her being uninfected coz we had sex several times for the rest 2 weeks.

I think the best thing to do for her is to wait for 10- 15 days approximately to have another test or should we start seeking treatment for her also?
