Canker sores the same as oral herpes? They can lead to Cervical cancer?

My partner had her yearly pap done.  She was called back to the office because of an issue.  The doctor said she has a cancerous cervix.
I guess she asked the doctor about my canker sores (that I have had since I can remember).  The doctor said that herpes can be inside and outside the mouth, and said canker sores and herpes are the same thing.
He also went on to say that my canker sores might have caused her the cancerous cervix.

Is any of this true?

I'ts 2010 - is there a cure for the annoying and painful canker sores yet?

Thanks
frustrated

Yes.  The HPV is the most likely cause.  If it has been caught early enough, its progression can indeed be halted from various procedures.  It is not known if HSV is a cause of cervical cancer.  Canker sores are NOT herpes. If you look them up, you will see they are different things. You can get a canker sore from an abrasion in the mouth. But that is not herpes.

What you should be doing is posting these questions in the Herpes community for the best answers.  There is also an HPV and cervical cancer forum.

Im not 100% sure about this issue, but I do not think canker sores are the same as herpes. I believe that cold sores are herpes (HSV 1), Cervical cancer is very treatable and I am extremely sorry for your partner and her condition, but I believe that cervical cancer can be cured. HPV can also cause cervical cancer as well, do you know if you have ever had a wart or anything like that?

I get cold sores a lot and do not have herpes.
the best cure I use for them are salt water rinses 3 times a day when I have one.

All the best,
