Will Gonorrhea definately be eradicated by 1g Ceftriaxone and 7 days' Doxycycline?

I was given a 1g cefriaxone injection and 100mg doxycycline twice a day for seven days after being diagnosed with gonorrhea (I had pain when urinating and later on a milky discharge as well).  The doctor said I had gonorrhea, but that I might also have chlamydia.

What are the chances that this prescription would definately clear up gonorrhea and chlamydia?

I am on day 4 and still have a milky discharge (which varies at different times in the day - more in the morning).   Which other STDs should I get checked for (and are there any others that would get eradicated by the prescription?)

the meds will clear your infection up. Often times if you get one of the STIs like gonno or chlamydia they will treat for both just as a precaution. The meds given to you will cure the infection. If your symptoms go away, then the meds are working. Make sure to finish your meds no matter what.

Hey...so I went back after a month for a check up and the doc said that I have some antibodies in my sample.

He prescribed another 7 days of doxycycline (but not another shot of ceftriaxone).  Though I was diagnosed with gonorrhea first time round, I've read on a few sites that it cannot be treated wth doxycycline alone.  I have also noticed a discharge returning (though this time it is clear and not milky as the first time).

I haven't had any intercourse since first hearing of the infection, so I'm guessing it is either that the ceftriaxone dose did not cure the gonorrhea or as you say that the slow growth caused another positive.  What is up with this discharge then? (I noticed upon the first round of meds that the discharge changed to this clear colour before going away, but now it is returning/starting as a clear colour!)

go into test around a month after the meds and symptoms are gone. Often times you will test too early, because the bacteria is a slow growing organism and will come back positive, even though you have been treated. I would suggest waiting a month to retest. If you go back and are positive again, do not panic, you probably just retested too soon and will get another set of meds as overkill.

Thanks, yes - the symptoms are finally going away.  That just leaves the question of what other STIs (other than Chlamydia) this prescription would be effective against - I will go for another screening after the meds to check that the gonorrhea is gone, but would also like to check for other infections.
