Infection... or STD related?

Last Saturday, I had protected sex with a friend.  Two days later, I developed a terrible cold. I went to the hospital and he told me it was a bacterial infection and he prescribed me an antibiotic.

I had a STD test two weeks ago and everything was negative. I called the girl up and she said she was fine.

Is there any chance she gave me anything, or is this just a coincidence? I feel like a new another STD test! Is it possible to catch anything else? Especially with a brief protected encounter?

Please help!

a cold or sinus infection are not signs of std's.

we recommend protected sexual contact because it works! hpv, syphilis and herpes are the only real risks from protected sex and the risk of those from a one time protected encounter are very low.

have you had your gardasil shots for hpv yet?
