best antibiotics combo for generic post exposure?

Anyone have a good opinion on best antibiotics combo for across the board prevention of the bacterial STDs. What I mean is say u were exposed to something potentially risky and figure i may as well take post-exposure antibiotics.

Which are gram positive STDS. Which are G negative. What combo is best to take care of everything non-viral?

That's not a commonly prescribed medication for stds, and its not on the preferred treatment guidelines.

If you had protected sex, you are taking meds you do not need, and I can't give you advice about what to take.  It creates resistance, and situations like this are why we have very few drugs to treat gonorrhea now.

Please...if you're in a truly high risk exposure....there is plenty of cause to act.

names of suggested antibiotics?

How about amoxicillin and clavulanic acid?

That should cover both G+'s and -'s

What else?

I never recommend taking antibiotics to prevent what might be an infection, especially if you have no signs or symptoms of an infection.  We have enough resistance to meds as it is, and this is how is starts.

Gonorrhea is the most common std that's g negative.  The rest of the common stds are g pos.
