Fears after having brief unprotected oral

I'm a guy who hooked up with a female commercial sex worker. My thing was kind of soft so she gave me a blow job to harden it. It was like 20-30 seconds and it was unprotected. After that, I put on a condom and we had sex for like 5 minutes.

I'm afraid that I might have contracted syphilis during the blow job. What symptoms do I need to look out for? It's been 6 days

True, from Dr Hunters post, the symptoms will show.

The "tingling at the tip" of urethra can be a normal feeling of everyday's irritations the penis encounters.   NGU is the only thing I would worry about, but again its a low risk encounter.  Usally people who get NGU are those recieveing oral on a constant basis.  Its been half a month., and you've got a low risk exposure.  If in the next 15 days nothing changes, it looks like your home free.

I honestly think you were never in the woods.

You just ran across the street and fell.   But get up and go home.

hi gary/onionninja,

kabayans, do you have any statistical info gathered from doctors on herpes infections in the Philippines? Manila particularly? Thanks.

It's been 5 weeks now. No discharges what so ever. Just saw a bump.

I have it checked and the doctor said that it is only a hair follicle. It healed overnight and it is too small to be a chancre.

I'm out of the woods now, am I not?

It's been more than a month now. No symptoms for the past 2 weeks except for now. I notice a small bump on the skin of my penis. 3 days ago I have a VD doctor check it and she said that it seemed to be a hair follicle.

It turned kind of red today when I tried peeling some skin from it. I'm still kind of worried about syphilis. How does a chancre start? Does it ulcerate right away or does it gradually open?

At this point you've got negative tests for oral sex, showing people how this is a low risk exposure for bacterial STDs (I hope people are reading).

.... and at this point you should only consider herpes.   But yeah.. Herpes is hard to catch from oral sex.   I hope you come back with more good news in a couple weeks.

Move on with your life, next time wear a condom, even for oral sex.

Thanks Vance, James

It's been 3 weeks and I feel better. Once in a while I check my penis for sores or chancres but there's been none so far. I can wait for a week more to say that I'm home free. So far so good though.

I just noticed a few marks. This is normally caused by tight jeans or iritation. If I were to have ulcers or chancres, they should have shown by now shouldn't they?

I know testing is unnecessary in my case but I tested since its free anyways. They smeared my urethra. It was so painful. They have to dig in deep because there's no visible fluid or discharge. The medical technician even asked why I was bothering to test since there's no discharge.

Yes yes yes...negative of any STI.

I'm so happy

Gary,

I just read your post. Paranoid? You may have gotten me there bro, I really am. Probably because of the guilt. I tested at the Social Hygiene Clinic last February. All good. Now here I am, bearing the guilt again.

But I do take your word man. I'm regaining confidence bit by bit. Thanks a lot!

Thanks Jess!

I really appreciate it.

I do have a hunch that I am home free.

Condoms for oral sex all the way bro. Actually, I am gearing toward abstaining.

All the best

I'm from the Philippines too, and I can tell you we have very low STD rates (virtually none in massage parlors, as they are required monthly STD checkups, even the trashiest places, if they don't want to get raided). I've had head from a nearly 3-digit number of CSWs and have had no problems from that.

If it's a bar/KTV girl though, that's a different story, since they don't get tested regularly.

Gonorrhea drip does NOT stop, hence why it is called "drip" (tulo). It'd be VERY HARD to miss. It's probably the only STD you have to actively worry about in this country (and only if you go unprotected vaginal).

If you REALLY want to get tested, you can find a list of STD testing clinics here:
http://tinyurl.com/phtestclinics
The Social Hygiene Clinic in Manila even performs some tests (like HIV) for free.

But from your posts, I'd say you are just extremely paranoid.

reposting

Had unprotected oral then protected vaginal sex on the 14th.

Waited a week. No symptoms. No pain or discharge whatsoever.

On the 9th day, started to feel some tingling on the urethra after urinating. Not really painful but kind of cold.

I've been taking a close look at it. No discharge but just some very slight discomfort after.

I'm worried that I might have gotten either NGU or Gonorrhea. I remember in on of Dr. Hunter's post though, that it is stated that STDs from oral are usually symptomatic.

Thanks Jess!

It's been 12 days after the exposure. So far I have no discharge but about 4 days ago I sometimes feel like the tip of the urethra is cold after urinating. I'm not sure if this is something to worry about or if I am just to watchful on myself because of the guilt.

Aside from discharges, are there other things I should look for?

"Are there cases of NGU or Gonorrhea where there's no discharge?"

                  Only for Gonorrhea.

I did type "NOT" twice by mistake.  I apolgoize for that.

I meant to say you shouldn't worry about syphilis.

5 days ago. I started to feel some tingling in the tip of my penis. It doesn't hurt but it it kind of cold. I took a close watch and it is a good thing that there's been no discharge since. I fear I may have gotten NGU or Gonorrhea from that brief unprotected oral.

Are there cases of NGU or Gonorrhea where there's no discharge?

Anxiety that major requires a possible trip to a therapist to help you deal with it.

One last

When Jessy said "I would not not worry about syphilis from your exposure" he typed not twice by mistake didn't he?

I'm sure what he meant was not to worry much about syphilis from that exposure.

Sorry guys...anxiety, even at 1%...pinches....

Vance, Jessy

I appreciate all your help and advice. I would say I'm only about 1% worried now.

Cheers!

Hi

Not every act of sex leads to infection with syphilis from an individual infected with syphilis, you have to have direct exposure to the shedding bactera from the lesion.   The answer to your question is not a "YES or NO" answer.  Because worse case senario; we wouldn't know. So therefore we don't know.

I would not not worry about syphilis from your exposure.

I hope you all don't mind me being paranoid. A very strange question here. Let's say on a worst case scenario , 1 had oral sex and got exposed to syphilis. Then 2 days after the exposure, I had unprotected sex with my GF. Will I infect her then?
