ur months I gave and received oral from another male. There were no obvious signs of STDS - no lesions, sores, etc and he said he was disease free. Last week i developed inflamation/small sores on my penis at the base of the head. I went to a doc in the box, (a few days later) who said it looked like it might be herpes, although she was surprised when I told her my exposure was oral only. (Did'd actually see the doc just a NP). Was perscribed an antiviral med (Valtrex) which I have been on for four days. Some improvement - not much pain, no blisters, or scabs. So my comments and questions:
1) from what I have read from this sight, contracting genital herpes from oral sex in rare - especially if there are no symptoms in the first two week
2) if it is herpes it is probably 1, which has less frequent and severe breakouts - should I be tested to find out which it is, if any?
3) The nurse offered a blood test, but I was't sure if I needed to do one, and if I wanted to do it there. Should I be tested and what kind of test specifically - (Using a STD website.)
4) Are there dangers, concerns about HPV 1 - if that is what this is.
5) Will the fact that I am on antiviral effect the test results
