How readily to STD's transmit to the giver of man-to-man oral sex?

Hello and thank you for this forum!  I occasionally like to perform oral sex on another man.  I don't do it very often (a few times a year) and I try to be selective, but you never know.  Before I go down I look for sores, discharges, etc and didn't see any this last time so not too concerned.  I don't ever let the guy *** in my mouth.
That said, how likely is the giver to contract an STD during oral sex?  Are STD's easily or readily transmitted to the giver during oral sex?  Thank you for your time.

Hi giving oral sex is a risk for syphilis, gono and herpes but its low risk but the more its preformed the higher the risk. In some ways the recivers is at more risk for herpes as if you have oral hsv1 which many people do, it can be passed without having a lip sore at the time. You might want to test for herpes just to make sure your not puting others at risk.
I would also suggest using a condom to avoid these issues.

Thank you.  I was tested for the most common STD's about a year ago (all negative) but not sure about hsv1.  That's a good recommendation, thank you.  If the guy had syphilis or gono would I have seen anything on his penis to indicate either?  I generally look pretty closely.
with syphilis he would have a painless chancre and with gono he would have a white puss discharge unless he just got it.
Ok thanks
Dave, as a follow up, I contacted the guy this morning and asked if he had any gonorrhea symptoms and he said no.  Also, I went to my primary care physician last night about my sore throat and the results of a throat swab was strep, for which he prescribed antibiotics (penicillin).  If my sore throat clears up by Sunday night, given that the guy I contacted indicated no symptoms, I'm likely not going to get tested for STD's on Monday morning as I had planned.
