Male, weird symptoms no answers.

im a mid-20's male whos generally been of great health, faithfully married. about 2 months ago i started experiencing some weird symptoms. they all occurred about a week apart from one another and they have all persisted:

- lump on inside of lower lip where the rough part of the lip meets the fleshy part of inner lower lip. no real pain tho a feeling of inflammation once or twice, particularly after being touched or examined

- meatus irritation, change in appearance of meatus, general puffiness, red/pink in color. discomfort is present some days, and not so much on others.

- pain in bottom of tailbone and area below, extending down into upper thighs and forward into scrotum area. ive also noticed a moisture/leakage on certain days that has been yellowish in color. embarssingly, i thought it might be excess feces from not wiping thoroughly, but ive since cleaned as best i could back there and still noticed it even on days when i dont make a BM

again this all started with the first symptom about 2 months ago. ive since seen

an urgent care dr (prescribed benzocaine for the lip, was not at all worried of it being an STD or herpes)

dentist (dentist and hygenist both examined lump, surmised mucocele and said nothing to worry about.)

family PA (said the penis irritation was probably yeast infection prescribed nystatin and surmised the lump might be a cold sore at best prescribed valtrex, both for a week script. also prescribed amoxicillan for a throat irritation i was having. did not visibly notice anything wrong in anus area, tho pain persisted)

family PA second time (after first scripts did not yield results, ordered urine test....results for chlamydia and bacteria in urinanalysis came back negative. referred me to urologist just on the side of caution, surmised that the back pain and issues were sciatica, tho seemed reluctant with that diagnosis)

urologist (examined penis, scrotum, and thoroughly looked over meatus...said slight irritation existed and prescribed a topical steroid betamethasone diproprionate for 2 wks time twice daily...i am currently starting my 2nd week)

none of these have made me feel any better. i still have residual, phantom pain in the area between the tailbone and high thighs, i still have a visibly irritated meatus and i still have a lump on my lip. i dont know what the correlation between any of these might be, but at this point i feel like im just throwing money away for people to nod their head and say im fine. i called my PA to see if theyd order bloodwork but they ask that i give the 2wk topical the full 2wks before moving forward on anything else.

all of the people ive seen have assured me that whatever it is im dealing with is not contagious, not spreadable and really nothing to worry about. im not so quick to believe that tho, wondering how they could know that if they dont know what it is? it should also be noted that, since all symptoms occured, i have had unprotected oral and vaginal sex with my wife, who has shown no symtoms of anything at this point. oral occurred about 2wks ago, vaginal roughly 1.

ive been faithful to my wife for many years and only had one sexual partner before her, which was over 8 years ago. im reluctant to say ive got an STD because ive not been sexually active with anyone else for almost the last decade but at this point my symptoms arent pointing me in any other direction.

appreciate any thoughts or feedback whatsoever!

Vance,

Any recommendations as far as what to do or where to go next? I'm still not ruling out herpes but I just dont know what to do at this point.

Its really quite frustrating knowing that ive been proactive throughout the entire ordeal but cant seem to find a solution. i appreciate your response!

This is a STD forum and all of us agree that this probably is not a STD based on symptoms.

i should also mention that i have notice that unless im drinking a ton of water, my urine almost always looks bubbly, especially first thing in the morning. i dont know if that contributes as an indicator of anything, but i have noticed it more than ever.

I appreciate that response from both of you. I've tried to stay away from the internet for a bit and let my symptoms run their course. I've also seen a new clinician as well as had a followup visit with a urologist since posting this in June.

Unfortunately I havent had much luck at all. I am not a super anxious person nor do I get stressed out easily, so I cant imagine that either of these things are contributing to my symptoms. neither of us had std testing done before marriage, no, but again weve been together for some time both having seen doctors for various other reasons (checkups, pap, etc). My symptoms as of today are as follows:

- a sticky, raw feeling in the genital region
- an irritated feeling at meatus area
- soreness in back of thighs below buttock

in my two appts since posting this thread, heres what was conclued:

clinician: after hearing a thorough explanation of all symptoms as well as conducting a thorough visual of the genital region, she did not believe there to be any sign of STD or infection. bloodwork is an option but she said she truly did not believe any type of testing for herpes or other std was necessary. i have not followed up to schedule bloodwork of any kind at this point.

urologist: simply said that he could not see anything other than some mild irritation (pinkish red skin near scrotum and top half of shaft) and that he could only recommend me to see a dermatologist at this point.

im still completely frustrated with this as ive now seen a mixture of 5 professionals, exhausting my insurance account and costing a small fortunte, and havent come to any solid conclusion or even a vague idea of what i could be suffering from.

i find nothing online that really coincides with my symptoms, pictures or explanations. its super frustrating as its been going on since april and its now august with no sign of any real progress toward feeling better.

i beg and plead with anybody here who might have any ideas.

did you and your wife both get full std testing that included herpes igg blood testing prior to getting married?

at this point, continue to follow up regularly with the urologist as needed for your symptoms. odds are this isn't a std related issue.
