intermittent pain

Good day,
I have recently started to have intermittent lower right abdomen pain and intermittent urination pain. I am very concerned that this may be a STD. I do not have any discharge from the penis or do I have any unusual bumps or sores around the genital area.  The pain in the urination does not happen all the time but when it does it only occurs the instant I start to urinate then goes away. On a scale of 1 to 10 for pain I would say its about a 3.

I had unprotected sex with a new partner about 2 weeks ago and I also started a new work out routine that involves an hour of lifting weights followed by a 2 mile run each day. I'm wondering if that may have something to do with it also.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks grace. Also did some research on my on yesterday about UTI's in men and it sounds like it also.

odds are this is not std related.  see your provider this week for a work up to try to better figure out what is going and to get some basic testing done.

you can get tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea now. You'll need to wait 6 weeks post encounter for syphilis testing if your provider feels you were at risk for it. 3 months is the time to wait for herpes and hiv testing.

if you are still with this new partner, did you discuss std testing and such prior to having sex?
