looking for answers

Prior to marrying my husband, he was diagnosed with HPV, and was completely upfront and told me about it from the start of our relationship. However, I have been trying to research it and gather all the info I can.  In my findings, the clear, flesh colored, small bumps on my husbands penis look nothing like what I find on various web pages.  The Dr. who diagnosed him simply looked at a single bump and prescribed a topical med. He has only had two "spots" but the cream didn't seem to make it go away. My curiosity peaked a couple months ago when he went on a antibiotic for a sinus infection, and his hindering spots just went away.  I wondered if it could be bacterial related with the antibiotics being so effective on a spot seemingly untouched by the topical cream. Just a few days ago, another spot has returned.  I have had no sign of any bumps myself either orally or otherwise.  I have read that it could be anything from his wearing well fitting jeans to using certain lubricants.  Any suggestions?

Hi!

Please keep me updated on this, it is peculiar that there was a slight "cure" with the antibiotics.   Its hard to find a good doctor out there who is well versed on this, but one is out there.

Best of luck.

Thank you so much for your response. We have not sought a second opinion as of yet.  I have been trying to find a link between the disappearance WITH the antibiotics as opposed to nothing changing with the topical cream.. as you said, could be the particular strain.

Thanks again!

Unfortunately HPV testing in men, is not as "iron-clad" as the bacterial testing or other viral testing.

In school the only association I was taught with "well fitting jeans" was infertility.

Lubricants can cause some chemical irriation considering the "spots" your husband has.

Did he ever get a second doctors opinion?  I suggest seeing warts or STD specialist.  Im not too knowledable on HPV.   You know some doctors support the creams for treatment (as your doctor did) and others support treatments like lazers, with both opposing viewers disliking their counter treatments.  If I am not mistaken I believe HPV clears out of the body in about a year (but please correct me if I am wrong), maybe this applies to certain strains of HPV.  Again I am not too certain on HPV.

Best of luck,
