If this was NGU, the doxy will clear it up.

One final thought - I continue to have slight discomfort/tingling in the tip of my penis, although it seems to be fading. I know it's almost definitely not NGU based on the doctor's opinion but if this were an NGU symptom, would it go away on its own, or continue to get worse?
Thanks very much for your comment. I meant to post this on the expert forum, but I definitely appreciate your thoughts very much.
Thanks!
Hi there -
You had protected oral. This makes an already low risk situation much lower.
Your only chances of an std would be syphilis and genital herpes type 1. Syphilis is uncommon in the US, and if you have ever had a cold sore, then you have herpes type 1, and therefore probably won't ever get it genitally, especially if the woman didn't have any oral sores.
The doxy would cure NGU, and will probably thwart a developing syphilis infection if you had one.
I'm with your doctor - I don't see cause for worry here. If the burning gets worse or doesn't improve, see your doctor again, but my guess is that the cause would be non-std related. You should also make sure you are drinking plenty of water.

This is not the Dr's form, this is the STD community. I will try to help with answers.
1. You had protected oral sex so none really. But STD's you can get from oral are gonnohrea, syphillis and NGU. Gon and NGU are the most common of the STD but it is low risk for oral and protected oral is almost no risk.
2. I do not know for sure
3. I can't say for sure
4. I don't think it will but I am not sure
5. Your tests are negative so you are good.
Plus you had protected oral sex, really no risk. Unprotected is low risk.
