anxiety after sex with CSW

Hello people

I am a male.  I had Durex condom protected vaginal and protected oral sex with a CSW about 10 weeks ago.  There was a little french kiss also. I had changed the condom after oral sex and used another one for vaginal sex.

Some time after i started worrying about STDs... i had no symptoms watsoever...i watched regularly for blisters or sores or lesions but none appeared in these past 10 weeks...i never had oral or genital herpes in my life... i have no swollen lymphs also... but yet i am worried about herpes or any other skin to skin disease...

Shall i test for any STDs now or wait for the 84 days (12 weeks) mark?  And also for what STDs do i test?  Please help...anxiety is eating my life away...

well certainly best of luck on the bar exams!!! worrying about passing them is far better use of your time than worrying about this encounter :)

Kevin,

Firstly mistakes happen, don't beat yourself up.  You do not need testing for STD's here because by the sounds of it you ahve not enagaged in any 'risky' behaviour - i.e. you wore protection.

And Grace is correct, *we recommend protected sex because it works*

On a lighter note, I hope you pursure your monogomy and have a happy healthy life together.

Take care

hello grace

i will test in two weeks time...and will let you know here... if they are negative i will pursue a monogamous relationship with my regular partner... for now i have abstained from sex till i get tested and assured... I really don't want to transmit anything to her...

thanks

we recommend protected sexual contact because it works!

really no reason for any std testing from this encounter. if you really need peace of mind, you can wait for the 12 week mark and test for herpes and syphilis, the only 2 std's you really were at risk for from this that we can test for. Honestly though the risk was far too low to even make it worth testing for those.
