recurring condyloma

I had a diagnosed condyloma back in 10/07 which was treated with Aldara in 11/07. Now in 03/08 I think I may have another wart, but not in the exact spot I had the previous wart. My question is, if it is a recurrent condyloma, can it reoccur in another spot or does it always reoccur in the same spot? Since I have been sexually active with a monogamous partner since that time could we be giving this infection to each other back & forth? My partner was checked without any diagnosis before. I haven't been able to see my deramtologist yet for the official diagnosis. I still have Aldara left over, would it be unwise to start using this as I previously did? Thanks for your time..

no, you wouldn't be experiencing hpv 18 years later.

I was with a different sexual partner in 1975 I broke out with condylomas in 1993 could I have had HPV and it did not surface until 18 years later or should I assume my husband infected me in 1993.  Any info you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Its not at all unusual to get a wart in a different spot.  In fact, it will probably appear in a different spot.

You can use the aldara, or you can see your doc and get it frozen.

You and your partner probably aren't giving it back and forth, as you both have been exposed, and have antibodies now.

HPV can take 2 years to clear in some people, though the majority will clear by 8 months.

Hang in there,
AJ
