persistent cystitis/urethritis

Some weeks after sexual contact with a woman of the street in April 2009, I noticed an ugly smell of my urine. In a test, ureaplasma urealyticum and micrococcus cristinae has been found and the doctor gave me doxycyclin for two weeks and azithromycin. since this therapy, the ugly smell has vanished on the whole. But some weeks later, I suffered from painfull cystitis. In a new test, staphylococcus cohnii/capitis and streptococcus mitis and, to my surprize, neisseria gonorrhoe (PCR) was found. I was given again some antibiotics (Metronidazole, Levofloxacin, Cefuroxime). Since then, the pain is passable, but it is not gone. The last year, there have been only few days without pain. All other days, I had either some pins and needles in my urethra or in my urinary bladder. Do you have any idea, what this can be? Additional information: There had never been some visible modifications at my genitals; I have been tested for some other infections (HIV, chlamydia trachomatis, hepatitis B/C). All those tests were negative. Thank you very much for some answers. Greetings from Germany.

definitely follow up with the urologist.  sounds like you've covered the bases ( and then some ) for std's and the typical bacterial causes of these symptoms.

sometimes once you start the pain cycle, it's hard to break.  http://www.pelvicpainhelp.com/  has info you might find insightful too.

I hope you tested again for gonorrea and the other bacteria that were found, to see that they've indeed cleared.

My best advice is to work with a Urologist or a doctor who knows her/his STDs on this.
