Your son is negative for hsv1 and hsv2 both. How old is he?

Did he has any genital symptoms that led him to get tested or was this just a random screening?

My son got his lab results back and I am confused.  This is what is says...
HSV select IGG 1 = 0.30 Neg
HSV select IGG 2 = 0.98 Positive
HSV 1 & 2 IGM   =  1.43 Positive

Can someone please tell me exactly what this means?  I was told that I personally have oral and genital herpes, and now my son has them too.

What was your result for hsv1?  Your hsv2 IgG is fairly low, so you might want to think about retesting for that,  especially if you've never had symptoms.

Your HIV is negative, as is your syphilis, which is the treponema result.  You don't have either of those.
