std life outside host

i know this is a weird question, but how long do std's live outside their host? if you put on someone else's underwear can you get it that way? or by touching things?

No STD's are not transmitted from enviromental objects.

Most STDs (bacterial ones) become inactive in a couple of mintues.  HIV in a couple of seconds.

You can get gential lice or skin rash conditions (not STD related) from sharing underwear.
