std test

My husband an d i been together for over 14 years, recently he told me he has been unfaitful, i went to my doctor and got tested for any STD, my test result came back positive for chlamydia and hsv1, i got tested through Quest, my husband did his independely and went to Labcorp  and his test came back positive for HSV1 and false positive for HSV2, but negative on Chlamydia...my Q is how is that possible, i never been with anyone but him, and i don't have HVS2 and he doesn't have Chlamydia, i'm so confuse, this doen' t make any sence

With the HSV test, you dont necessary to have an outbreak. You could have been exposed to the 20 years ago and the antiboties will still show up. Once you are infected with it, it is for life.

Well just to finalize the results, have him do the swab test on his penis. Did he take any meds for Chlym yet as a precaution?

Yes i did, i'm not sure about him, he says it was blood and urine sample,  they messup the first test saying "it got contaminated" so he did it again on the 20th of this month

Hi again. these test are 90 95% sensitive in detecting it. False positives and false negatives are rare. It is good to do a swab test as a back up to the urine. The swab in women is taken at the urethrea area, same for the man. Did you have this done?

Well that's the thing, i had my physical and Obgym on Sept. Of this year and everything was clean, my dr. Is saying for my husband to be retested, and me to retake hsv 1/2 in six months

Hi, Grace will give you some good advise so keep an eye out for her, but i will say that if you have Chlamydia then where did it come from? This is a sexually transmitted bacteria from unprotected oral, anal or vaginal sex.
