ureal parvum infection

Hi

I have been battling with an infection for over 2 years now.  The test for ureal parvum came back positive about 2 years ago. I discovered I had this bacteria because I started to have pelvic infection. I had pain in the lower belly and ovaries, fever and chills. I took antibiotics for 10 days for the first time, the symptoms went away, but the then they came back a few weeks later. I continue on and off with antibiotics (doxycline) for the last year. And the bacteria always come back I usually feel pain the lower belly and tiredness after a few weeks without antibiotics. the problem is that i cannot take these forever.

Recently I had 6 months with no symptoms. However, the infection started again. Very bad. I am again on docycline (100mg 2x day).

I am also doing everything I can in terms of home remedies, like taking lots of garlic and ginger, showering with baking soda. I am still under treatment, my symptoms are gone but I am worried that after i finish the 20 days course of antibiotics my symptoms will recur. What should I? How can I get rid of this bacteria?

I forgot to mention that I am not having sex at the moment. Oddly enough my ex partner was cured in the course of antibiotics and he never got the bacteria back form me(!). how is this possible?

Thanks a lot!
p.s - I was tested negative for clamidya, and other STDs and I don't have HIV.

you posted on my Mycoplasma G., again thank-you.
so here I am posting on yours..
I am pretty specific in describing my symptoms; are yours very similar to mine?? you have been fighting this infection for such a long time now; have you also had a Very itchy rash on your body or severe pain in your joints??
it seems that when our bodies fight infections for an extended period of time, we get other auto-immune problems.. like skin rashes and arthritis..
it has been 6 days now since I have been off the antibiotic and so far so good. the joints in my fingers, shoulders and knees still ache on occasion, but Nothing like before and the rash is completely gone. Moreover, I have no STI symptoms in my vaginal area.
Also, from what I can gather, MG and UP are in the "same family," that is, if I understood what I was reading, it seems that they are both mycoplasmas..
they are slow growing, and doxy only hinders the growth.
may I be so bold as to suggest you ask your doc for a Zpack or(even better) ask him to put you on Avelox 400mg for 14 days.

this last Infectious Disease Specialist I went to was a very big disappointment; in that he was not very knowledgeable. He told me that I most likely had BV(I have had this once in the past and what I was recently suffering from was NOT BV), that even if I had had MG I didn't have it anymore because of the antibiotics I had taken and that there was no reason to test for it because the test would come back positive because one you have it you have antibodies for it and after he told me all this he dismissed me.
I was so mad. so disappointed. he acted like I was drug seeking for antibiotics! he did Not seem interested in discussing my symptoms, only that he could do nothing for me seeing as how I no longer had symptoms and dismissed me and told me I was cured.
ok, I am sorry, I am ranting. sorry.

You need to confirm its back with a urine or swab test and not assume it is.
