well no urine testing for glucose won't tell you blood sugar levels. if you have such a high blood sugar that you are spilling glucose into your urine, that's a sign that your blood sugar is very high though.

you've had a lot of anxiety about all of your masturbation. you've had numerous questions about it. at this point, follow up every time you have symptoms. if they continue to find no reason for them, perhaps it's time to deal with the anxiety part of all of this finally with a professional?

really not much else we can help you with here. you have not been at risk for std's and we've taken a lot of time to answer all your questions. any further questions should be posted in a men's health or urology related forum here on medhelp.

No, it doesn't imply they are completely wrong.  They are probably correct, but the best sample to give is the way I explained above.  Most doctors and nurses don't understand how to take a good sample.  Mid stream sample is good if you want to verify a bladder infection, however, UTI's or urethral infection samples are beset  taken from first catch.  If you have an infection in the urethra, the mid stream urine will have cleared out most of the bacteria and make the sample weak.  Furthermore, you want to give only 10-20ml.  Look at the sample bottle and you will see that it's a very small amount.  You want to make sure any bacteria is concentrated in the sample and not diluted by giving a full cup.

When I went to my urologist I kept telling them I'm giving them a first catch sample and the nurse kept arguing with me and telling me it has to be mid stream because they need to check for bladder infection.  I had to tell her she didn't know what she was talking about because I have NGU and the scope they previously did revealed no infection or inflammation whatsoever of the bladder, so it's localized in the urethra and therefore they need to perform UA's and cultures on first catch.  She was clueless and I was stunned she had no idea what I was talking about.  The uro agreed but then quickly brushed it aside and said the mid stream was sufficient, as if he didn't want to sound like a patient knew more than the doc treating him.  Search the posts in the expert forum.  You will see where Dr Hook repeatedly says first catch urine is desireable and most acurate for penile infection.  In additon, if they do a swab, make sure the swab is done before urination, otherwise the urine clears the bacteria.

So be proactive, do you research, and discuss options with your doctor and also discuss best sample methods, so they know what kind of sample they are getting from you.

With all that being said, you do not have an STD based on the fact that you are telling us you've never had a sexual encounter with another person.

ugh. Urgent care didn't give any prereqs for beforehand.... I wanna say I woke up at 7:30am and went to the bathroom then, and the report says I saw the doctor at 10:30am which means I gave a sample maybe at 10am? So since I'm not sure, it could mean these results are completely wrong?

If you didn't have any sexual encounters with another person, or animal, or any other living being, you do not have an STD.  Your urethritis may be caused by irritants, aggressive masturbation, or stricture.  You could also have a UTI from some bacteria since we don't know what you've been putting in your urethra, but the absence of any bacteria or WBC's in your urine is a good indication there is no infection present.  You may want to ask your urologist if he thinks it's appropriate to prescribe you Uribel or some other antiseptic to help sooth your urethra while urinating.

Whatever this is, you can be sure it's not an STD, but when you see a urologist, please follow up and let us know what the diagnosis is.

Regarding your tests, nothing you've done or eaten would have any effect on the tests.  The only think I can suggest if you decide to retest (for UTI bacteria, not STD's) is to make sure your urine sample is a first catch sample, meaning it's the first urine to come out of your urethra, not mid stream.  Also make sure you haven't urinated for 2.5 hrs prior to giving your sample.

urine test shows ketones  are negave and glucose is "normal" *though i hear urine tests aren't the best for blood sugar. I have not had any sexual encounters with another person. I'm wondering if these test results were just this way by chance, and if i did it again they might possibly come back differently. This sucks.

Did you have any sexual encounters with another person prior to your symptoms or were you only masturbating by your self?  Sorry, I don't have any background on your case, only your question about getting a UTI from masturbating into panties.

high blood sugar can cause urinary issues from high sugar but hard to tell if that's what you are feeling or not.   An urine dip would show sugar or ketones in your urine to rule that out easily.

if you have been diagnosed as being at risk for developing type 2 diabetes, you should be watching your diet and counting carbs  and exercising to prevent that :)

Appt made for next Friday. I'm hoping I can get some answers. If anyone has suggestions, I'd appreciate. Is there any way this could be related to prediabites any? *The stinging seems to lessen if I drink a ton of water or force myself to drink more than I usually do .

Hello

Yes UTI and urethritis and NGU are basically the same thing.

Thank you grace. I was put on azimothrin(?) and doxycycline. Occasionally, I feel a bit less stinging, however, sometimes it feels after I'm done that there'a little bit left. I guess im going to schedule a urology appointment tomorrow. Could this still be slight uerithitis? The urgent care originally diagnosed as NGU. and to clarify, is a UTI the same as uerithitis?

you had no reason to go for std testing. no reason to doubt your test results.

i might add, the interval between early morning to the testing time would've been maybe 2 hours?

Hello again to anyone here,

I did a urine sample analysis at an urgent care clinic and the results came back as no GC/CT, the urinalysis came back as normal and the urine culture test came back as no growth and what not. My question is prior to taking this test, I used the bathroom early in the morning and ate breakfast. Before submitting my sample I had to drink a bit there at the lab just to even go. Could my using the bathroom early in the room as well as eating breakfast have altered my results any at all? Thank you very much.
