vaginal and oral sex

Hi,

I asked a question on the  hiv doctor's forum yesterday but forgot to ask about other STD's.  I just wanted to know what the risks would have been from receiving unprotected oral sex from a sex worker, what tests I would need, and what the window periods would be.

Thanks a lot

Unprotected oral is low risk of transmission but not a no risk. You can get gono, chlamydia, herpes but not HIV. You should get tested if this worries you much or if you feel you have symptoms already.

HSV , HPV , syphilis Risks are quite high if your partner is infected. HBV and HIV are an absolutely low risk hence not to be worried about.  Gonorrhea and chlamydia are medium risks. There are certain other minor STD's that need not be worried about.

Herpeselect , elisa ,blood tests at 4 months are reliable with accuracy of 98% when symptomatic for Herpes both IgG and IgM.
HPV - papsmears annual.
Gonorrhea,Chlymdia and NGU  - 14 days and above urine or swab, quite reliable.
syphilis - RPR or VDRL or TPHA reliable 6 weeks and above, quite conclusive greater than 3-4 months.
HBV and HIV tests not warranted.
The above are a basic guideline please contact you medical practitioner.
You are also a good candidate for Azithromycin dosage that could easily stem Gonorrhea,Chlymdia and Syphilis early infections.
