would you advise not going to your doctor if it is the same one as your spouse for testing?

I dont really have a mistrust for Dr's., just mine.
And yes, I know it is time to shop around,
I only wish the Doc I had from the time I was 14, until his passing a few years back, was still here.
He was one of a kind. It just seems as though Dr's today have to go by the standards set by the people who have all the control, and dont really have patients comfort in mind.
Comfort is a thing of the past, they dont want to held liable for anything that might constituate drug abuse
Regardles of pain....
This is a little outdated, but dont have much time to be on my computer much anymore.
hugs...

Also look at the Dr's on this site in the STD expert form. They are well respected and are here to help people. So please don't let your mistrust of your Dr effect your judgement of all Dr's.

belle10-I would suggest reporting your Dr's office to state health authorities because of HIPAA (I think that is it). They can not release anything to anyone without your premission.

Are some Dr's just trying to treat people quickly-I am sure some are. But most Dr's are very good and want to help people. Maybe your Dr was just having a bad day and it happens. If Dr's were only in it for the money then most would not be Dr's because it's not a high paying job until you get your own practice or are high up in the "food" chain at a hospital and perfom difficult surgeries.

There is a problem with physicians, they dont want to treat you for pain related problems, because if you are in pain, they want to send you to another  physician who feels more comfortable prescribing  pain related meds if you are in pain. My physician prescribed 800 mg of ibuprofen (over the counter) for shingles!
I just think all Dr's are in it for the $$$ and forget the patients problems, just do what they are told....
As far as patient confidentiality, I was told I had  Ovarian cancer (thank-god It was a mistake, or whatever) My husband called and talked with her, and she told everything!
So much for patient confidentiality.

...doctors taking oath!!!  should be the same everywhere.
If you do not have anything to hide and your doctor is an attentive and good physician  would stick with same doctor...

Dr's have an oath that they can not discuss any patient information...that is in America, not sure about other countries.
