will cefalexin treat gonorrhoea

hi, would a 7 x days  course of cefalexin 250 mg taken 4 times a day (28 capsals) treat gonorrhoea . also i have read on here that it can clear up on its own in about 3 months or so , if you were tested for chlyamidia only ,would they pick up any signs for gonorrhoea if it were present , , i was tested for chlyamidia only , and given the cefalexin for a UTI , the test was negative for chlyamidia but my symtems went  which were , my testicles had slight warm feeling  , that lasted for a few weeks i had no discharge in the mornings , i had a little discharge only when i milked my penis as that was the only way it came out , i had no burning when i urenated at all , i had a one off sex without protection ,

the reason I asked about testing is because otherwise healthy males don't typically get uti's.  odds are you actually had ngu but should symptoms continue, return to be seen and make sure you get a manual exam of your prostate to check for signs of infection there too.

discharge that you have to milk your penis to get isn't std discharge - that's normal.

Yes often gonorrhea can clear on its own. Why not call the Dr and ask for results.

They did a urine test to check for chlymidia and a uti then gave me a 7 day corse of cefalexin 250mg (28) capsules that stopes the symptoms of my testicles burning feeling and I also had a little discharge ,to get the discharge I had to milk my penis for it to come out it was like a clear / whiteish fluid , my doctors in the uk when they do a test they only ring you if you have a positive result but if your result is positive and they gave you treatment which would treat it they also would not call you which I don't like ,it's been a few months know so I don't know weather it was gonorrhoea or not as dr hhh says that it can clear on it's own is this true , all your comments would help I also think this is a very helpful site thanks to you all .

no reason to think that you had gonorrhea based on your symptoms.  bottom line is if you've been having unprotected sex, get full std testing and so should your partner.  gonorrhea is highly resistant to many antibiotics at this point so hoping you were treated enough doesn't cut it.

what testing did they do that they diagnosed you as having an uti?

Thanks for that vance2335, would the cefalexin cure gonorrhoea if I had it , I have read on this site that it would cure it and that it can clear up on it's own in 3 moths or so , let me know your thoughts please ,

No a test for chlamydia would not detect gonorrhea. We don't give out medication advice. I don't see anything that would make me think of gonorrhea.
