worried about herpes
A little over a week ago I was in a bar talking to two women. One of the woman kissed me on the cheek so I kissed her on the cheek back. Just then she said, " I can't believe I was just over there hugging that girl with those sores all over her body. When I looked over, there was indeed a girl who had obvious sores on her face and arms, and one wrist and fingers were covered in bandages. The woman I kissed said that the girl was a drug addict. Ever since that night I have experience consant tingling and burning around my lips and face. The skin around my lips appears irritated. My question is this: Is it possible for me to have acquired a herpes virus by such indirect contact ( assuming that the moman I kissed had come in contact with one or more of the other woman's sores)? I've really been stressing over this.
A drug addict with sores all over her body as you describe isn't likely to have herpes as the cause of them. It's more likely to be a bacterial skin infection.
It's most likely psychosomatic as to why your lips are tingling. If it continues - see your doctor.
