I don't beleive that the two are the same. HPV is the cause of genital warts, and may lead to cervical cancer in women.
Where as Herpes simplex viruses type 1 (HSV-1) or type 2 (HSV-2). Most genital herpes is caused by HSV-2. Most individuals have no or only minimal signs or symptoms from HSV-1 or HSV-2 infection. When signs do occur, they typically appear as one or more blisters on or around the genitals or rectum. The blisters break, leaving tender ulcers (sores) that may take two to four weeks to heal the first time they occur. Although the infection can stay in the body indefinitely, the number of outbreaks tends to decrease over a period of years.
We are talking about two different STD here. I am looking for information on HPV and not on HSV
HPV is related to herpes.
Sorry if there was some confusion. I was talking about the Human Pamloma Virus (sorry about the spelling). It is the one that they have release the twinrex vacination for girl to get.
Even if there are no noticable outbreaks, she can still pass the herpes virus onto you.
I know Valtrex is a good pill to take and allows sexually active couples to go about their normal sexual activities, just as you are.
And even still, the herpes virus can lay dormant in ones body and not peak until down the road...so it's best to just take added precautions.
