I understand it as welderslove has previously explained. There is constant confusion of the difference between regular periods and those that you get while on birth control The birth controls primary purpose to keep an egg from leaving the ovaries (ovulating) to keep you from getting pregnant. If the egg does not start it's path through the fallopian tubes to the uterus. Now, normal periods do pass an egg, and thus the uterus knows to prepare for a possible fertilized egg to need to implant into walls of the uterus, so it builds up tissues. These tissues are the reason you have to have a period monthly to maintain uterine health. But, on birth control periods your egg never leaves the ovary at all. The egg does not enter the uterus, the uterus does not sense an egg is coming so it does not prepare. Thus there is not tissues that build up and there is no need for a period every month. The small, completely comfortable 3-4 day period is due to the lose of estrogen and other hormones when you switch to the lower dose placebo like pills. Seasoneque doesn't have any more risks than the other birth control pills.
I have my own health problems, and I grilled my gynecologist/obgyn on all my concerns. I've had no troubles thus far, and actually have had a much better time with my PMDD without having to take the anti-depressants that are offering for that now a days.
I personally would like to know who specifically this gynecologist is.
that is just what my gyno told me.
that is bull....th only reason you have a period on the pill is to shed that lining and with those two pills you dont have one (egg or lining).you only need a period to release an egg and the lining...if you have no egg and little lining then there is no need for a period. i am a nurse and on seasoneque and i think it is WONDERFUL!!!
