need advice

OK as embarrassing as this is for me I really need advice for a problem I'm having.  I am recently divorced and haven't really been back in the dating scene. Against my better judgement I let some friends talk me into going to a party over the past weekend.  Having been out the partying scene as well it did not take much for me to have too much to drink.  Anyways I ended up riding home with a guy ( that I knew for the past couple years ) so it wasn't just random and i knew I could trust him. Needless to say one thing led to another. The next day I had vaginal spotting ( I've had a. hysterectomy 2 years ago ) so I'm sure it wasn't my menstrual cycle. Extreme soreness and vaginal burning when i urinate also feeling like I constantly need to urinate or not being able to fully empty my bladder. There hasn't been any discharge that I would call unusual or any odor. I thought I could have a UTI but Google can scare the crap out of you when UTI's and some std's have the same symptoms. Because there is some bruising around the outside of m the vagina I have totally embarrassed to go to my primary doctor.  I am not a nasty person and neither is this guy. But none the less I'm still kind of flipping out ... any suggestions HELP!

I finally bit the bullet and went to the Dr yesterday.  They said it was a UTI ( thank god)  so I'm now on antibiotics and praying nothing else comes up.  You just never know about people and where they've been. But thank you for the advice.

It sounds like the sex may have been too rough if you have bruising. That can also cause an UTI. I really sounds like that's what's going on. An STD would not be giving you symptoms the next day. You have to see your Dr to find out if this is what's going on because if it is you will most likely need antibiotics to clear up the UTI.
