swelling of the circumcision line.

The line of the circumcision on the left side of the penis is a little swollen. When I feel it, its like a lump. Looks normal but it has become very sensitive and it irritates me when this part rubs against the underwear too. Once after an intercourse with my girlfriend I noticed redness in this part and two small cuts in the line of circumcision so I happened to apply after-shave lotion thinking that its a disinfectant and will heal it. However it got worsened and when I visited the doctor he gave me Ebernet-M and it healed however now this line of circumcision is a little swollen and when I feel it the line appears like a lump like how it would be in the initial stages of circumcision. It is very sensitive and I'm really worried that it'll affect my sex life. The second time I visited the doctor he said that it could've happened because of friction during intercourse and has given Picon(Pimecrolimus Cream 1%) but it doesn't seem to do any good. Please advise as I am really worried.

Thanks and Regards,
Reyan

I visited the dermatologist and he said its nothing and I shouldn't worry about it. Then I visited the urologist and he said that its a hypertrophic scar and nothing can be done about it. I told him that its sensitive when its erect and he said that the sensitivity should go down with regular intercourse and he asked me to apply coconut oil or Vaseline to the affected area. But, I am not convinced mam, the sensitivity hasn't gone down in one month already and its affecting my sexual life big time..Please give me an advice based on your experience I shall ever remain grateful to you. I can send you pic of the affected area if you want. I've already wasted so much of money but to no avail. I think you can understand my problem only after seeing the pic. Looking forward for your reply!!!!!

Hello,
You should consult a dermatologist and get this evaluated. This may need a biopsy sin to rule out any infection. I hope it helps. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I'm still on the same medication given by the doctor (Picon(Pimecrolimus Cream 1%)..Its okay when the penis is not erect and its not causing me any trouble however when its erect I could see the swelling and when I feel it with my finger its very sensitve to the touch.. I'm really worried coz its definitely affecting my sexual life. The same line of circumcision on the right side of the penis is normal and when I run my finger through it is not so sensitive but this part is very sensitive and I've observed that I'm ejaculating soon ever since I got this prob and that clearly show how sensitive it has become after the rash.

Please advise.

Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but this swelling can be due to friction rub or chaffing. Chafing is a continuous rubbing of the skin that causes redness or soreness.

Chafing occurs when the skin becomes irritated by the friction caused by rubbing – either against other skin or against a foreign material. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a doctor.

I hope it helps. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
